Carnage Royale Opens for Registration

As in past years, you can download the convention book as a PDF — linked below, with the schedule grid — peruse the games listed and mail in the form on the last page to preregister for the convention. However, now you can also use our new online registration system to preregister for the convention paperlessly, and use Paypal for payment. Note that clicking the link above will redirect you to a second website, www.carnageconregistration.com, which is a Carnage-owned and operated web site, hosted separately for quality of service purposes. As with a paper registration form, online registration lets attendees indicate their first, second and third choices for games to play in a schedule slot. Those preferences are fulfilled on an as-available basis.

Carnage Royale, Vermont’s own tabletop game convention, runs from November 4-6, 2016, at the Killington Grand Resort in Killington, Vermont. For more information about booking a room for the weekend, visit our Lodging page. Walk-in registrants are always welcome, but we encourage attendees to preregister for the weekend to reserve seats in scheduled games on a first-come, first-served basis. And do check the web addendum for late arriving games that didn’t make it into the convention book.

Check out the addendum page, explained below, for the latest game news. Once you’ve picked out the games you would like to play, fill out the preregistration form at the back of the book and send it in before the first week of November. There are no guarantees in preregistration, of course, but sooner is always better, and it never hurts to include a second choice.

GMs, if you would like to sign up to play in addition to running games, send in the pre-reg form, noting on it that you are a GM.

Once that’s taken care, all you have to do is sit back and relax and get ready for Carnage of the Lost World, November 6-8, 2015 at the Killington Grand! You could also rustle up some games to offer for trade in the annual no-ship math trade, Trading in the Land of the Lost, too.

New Spaces, Venue Changes

Carnage has access to some new convention spaces this year in the Snowshed building: the Ticket Room, the Pods and Snowshed-Gateway are all rooms on the ground floor, below the Snowshed ballroom, which most convention-goers know as the main role-playing game space. The new rooms are all pictured in the map on page 29 of the convention book.

Additionally, the Killington resort is in the process of renovating, which changes some of the routes prior attendees may be used to, and the availability of some amenities. Check out our rundown of what’s to eat and where for details.

To effectively work such a rich vein of tabletop action, you’ll need to plan ahead. And so you can, with A Fistful of Carnage’s official convention book, racing across the land in pony express saddlebags, as well as available through modern telegraphy!

Once you’ve figured out what you want to play, download and fill out the registration form. Note your desired games, include second choices just to be safe, check whether you’re coming for the weekend or just a day or two and decide whether or not you want a T-shirt.

GMs, if you managed to find time in your Carnage weekend to play something and wish to register, be sure to check the box noting you’re a GM. If you’re registering as a group of five or more, all registration forms must be included in the same envelope.

Get your registration form in the mail and postmarked by October 31st! We do our best to accommodate last minute registrations, but your best shot of getting a seat at the games you most want to play is registering in advance.

Sign Up to Receive the Carnage Convention Book

As August draws to a close, Carnage staffers work to round up all event submissions for publication in the official book. Once the book is finalized, we’ll mail copies out to previous attendees. The furious scribbling of pens and pencils will resound throughout New England as convention-goers pick out their games for the weekend, then mailing in their preregistration forms and payment.

If you’ve attended Carnage in the past three years, you are on the mailing list and you are all set to receive the book. Congratulations!

If you haven’t attended Carnage in the past three years, you have two options:

  1. Fill out our handy mailing list addition form. Your information will be added to our mailing list and a book will go out to you in the mail.
  2. Use the PDF version of the book, which will be made available through the Carnage website a few days after the books are mailed, keeping paper and PDF-users on an even footing in reserving seats in games.

Keep a sharp on your mail boxes, physical and electronic. As the book becomes available, we’ll update you here on the website as well.

Carnage the 13th Schedule Grid

The schedule grid for Carnage the 13th is now free for the downloading. Linked below, you’ll find it in three tasty flavors: PDF, Excel spreadsheet and Open Document spreadsheet. With it, you have a visual guide to pinpointing the intractable conflicts in your weekend at Carnage. Good luck making that decision!

This grid is based on the one Frank Perricone whipped up for Carnage 12 last year, which turned out be a big hit beforehand and onsite. Thanks for blazing the trail there, Frank.

2010 Carnage the 13th’s Convention Book is in the Mail and on the Web

They were warned the book would be ready. And now it has arrived. Click the image to download the PDF.

Carnage the 13th’s convention book, detailing the where, the when and the how of the games to be played at this year’s convention, is now in the mail. Even as we type, this stapled, folded, laser printed missive of gaming-related delight makes its way through the byzantine layers of the United States Postal Service to all the current members of our mailing list.

In addition, for those of you who are staunch proponents of the electronic document, as well as those souls whose mailing information hasn’t yet found its way into the Carnage database, there is a PDF download of the convention book, free for the taking. And if you can’t wait for it to show up in your physical mailbox, feel free to pull down those electronic bytes.

You can also check out the handy schedule grid, linked below in three flavors, the better with which to plan your gaming weekend. The grid is based on Frank Perricone’s work in creating a grid for last year’s convention, so thanks to him for getting the ball rolling.

At the back of the convention book is your preregistration form, with which you can reserve a seat in those games you absolutely gotta play, as well as an official Carnage the 13th T-shirt, if your sartorial inclinations allow.

Finally, keep an eye on the Tournaments and Web Addendum pages. Details for the former are shaping up and the latter is where late arriving events that didn’t make it into the convention book will appear.
